Green Light Group Tours

Enter Ecotourism

We plan some really awesome trips here at Green Light. A lot of our trips involve sending you and 300 of your closest friends to NYC, LA, and Honolulu. This requires the use of planes, trains, buses, subways, and more in some of the biggest cities in North America.  And while each one of the trips we plan is pretty cool in their own right, it’s nice to sometimes travel at the opposite end of the spectrum.

Enter ecotourism.  Ecotourism involves visiting places off the beaten path with the goal of educating the traveler, directly benefiting economic development in the area, or providing funds for ecological conservation. Ecotourism mainly focuses on socially responsible travel and environmental sustainability.

Ecotourism may sound like an oxymoron.  Tourism itself relies on transportation, which contributes to greenhouse gas emissions. But that’s no reason to not try for a better tourism experience! Why not incorporate some element of ecotourism into your group’s travel itinerary? We can send you off the beaten path to super cool places like Costa Rica. Not feeling that adventurous? It could be as easy as visiting a museum in your destination city that promotes conservation efforts, or buying carbon credits to offset the emissions from your motor coach. Making the world a better place while traveling doesn’t have to be hard. It’s actually quite simple.
